MPower Financing, an innovative fintech company and provider of educational loans to high-potential international and DACA students, carved out a smart and innovative niche in the higher education marketplace. Positioning itself as a gap lender to "qualified" students in their junior and senior years and for grad students, the firm granted loans in the range of $2,000 - $25,000 based on students’ earnings potential rather than personal credit history.
Feintuch Communications was hired in July 2015 to assist MPower Financing in expanding its university and college partnerships to offer educational loans to a larger student population, as well as to increase its profile with investors. To reach these audiences, we conducted an aggressive media relations program to establish company executives as thought leaders via interviews and bylined articles, while providing media with access to foreign student borrowers as case studies. We also supported a customer survey the company conducted and an investor breakfast at the Harvard Club in New York City.
As a result of our collaboration with MPOWER Financing’s executive and marketing teams, we secured dozens of placements in mainstream consumer and business media, as well as in banking and finance trades, including US News & World Report, Forbes, Fast Company, MarketWatch, American Banker, Washington Business Journal. We also arranged interviews and placed articles with international press when the company’s principals were traveling outside of the U.S.
